We’re new here! Mirthen was born from a conversation about mispronouncing English words like ‘pacific’ instead of ‘specific’, ‘camelflage’ instead of ‘camouflage’, ‘bomb-fire’ instead of ‘bonfire’.
So it then seemed like a BRILLIANT idea to make some cleverly designed t-shirts (and possibly other products coming soon!) available for your purchasing pleasure!
To be as ‘green’ as we possibly can be we only print an item when you buy it, which seems a much more environmentally friendly idea than printing hundreds of products and hoping they will sell! Our ‘print on demand’ service has a delivery network across the planet, so anything purchased is printed as close to your home as possible.
Our designs are inspired by the play on words described above and our own particular take on our favourite pop-culture themes. Some designs are generated using AI, some I designed (look for the simple ones), some are designed by my talented daughters who are a lot more artistic than I could ever hope to be.
Wondering where the name “Mirthen” comes from? Wonder no more! Like all good words it’s made up! My train of thought, often derailed, often stuck in the station went like this: “Hmm, whats a fun word for fun? Ooooh, mirth! What does it mean? Aha, amusement! I want the site to be full of amusing products Mirth is an awesome name – and unfortunately already taken! OK, what happens to the meaning if I add “en” to make Mirthen? Huzzah! En at the end of a word means ‘made of’ so Mirthen then means made of mirth! So if I make amusing products I’m Mirthen!”
I know, I know, it’s a stretch! But I just made up a new word (as I can’t find it anywhere else) so that’s smart right? (TBC)
